Convert JFIF to JPG
Turn .jfif files into normal .jpg photos. Nothing uploaded.
How it works
- Pick your photos.Saved from a website, a chat or your files.
- We fix them on your phone.Same picture, now ending in .jpg. Nothing is uploaded.
- Save them back to Photos.Into your camera roll, or your Downloads on a computer.
Why Windows saves .jfif
A Windows setting maps JPG images to the .jfif ending, so some browsers pick it when you save a picture. The image is fine. Only the name confuses other apps.
Questions
What is a .jfif file?
It’s a normal JPG with a different ending. JFIF is the name of the layout used inside most JPG files. Some versions of Windows and Chrome save web images with a .jfif ending, and then upload forms and apps refuse them because they only look for .jpg.
Can I do this without a website?
Yes. Because it’s already a JPG, you can rename the file and change .jfif to .jpg. On Windows, turn on File name extensions in File Explorer’s View menu first. This page does the same for a batch, which is handy on a phone where renaming is awkward.
Is any quality lost?
No. When the file is a plain JPG inside, you get the same picture back under a .jpg name, with nothing re-compressed. Files carrying photo details are re-saved at Best quality instead, which you won’t be able to tell apart.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Your device does everything, in the browser.
