Quality

Best looks the same as the original. Smaller files are easier to email.

How it works

  1. Pick your photos. From your camera roll, files or computer.
  2. We fix them on your phone.Your phone does the work. Nothing is uploaded.
  3. Save them back to Photos.Straight into your camera roll, or your Downloads on a computer.

Why TIFF files are so big

Scanners and pro cameras often save TIFF, which keeps every pixel without compression. That’s great for archiving and terrible for email: a single page can be 50 MB. A JPG at Best quality looks the same and is usually a tenth of the size.

Multi-page TIFFs

If your TIFF holds several pages, you get the first full-size page as a JPG.

Questions

Will the JPG lose quality?

At Best quality you won’t see a difference on screen or in normal prints. Keep the TIFF as your archive copy if you need every pixel.

Can I do this without a website?

Yes, one at a time. On a Mac, Preview opens TIFF and can export JPEG. On Windows, the Photos app or Paint can open TIFF and save as JPEG.

What if the TIFF won’t open?

A few rare TIFF types (some fax and CMYK print files) may not be readable here. Try opening and re-saving it in your scanning app.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Your phone or computer does the converting, inside the browser. Load the page, turn on airplane mode and try it: it still works.
