Convert JPG to PNG
Turn JPG photos into PNG files. Nothing uploaded.
How it works
- Pick your photos. From your camera roll, files or computer.
- We fix them on your phone.Your phone does the work. Nothing is uploaded.
- Save them back to Photos.Straight into your camera roll, or your Downloads on a computer.
When you need a PNG
Some upload forms, print shops and design apps ask for PNG. It’s also the better starting point when you’ll mark up, crop and save a picture over and over, because each save keeps every pixel.
Questions
Does converting to PNG improve quality?
No, and no converter can. A JPG already lost some detail when it was saved. Converting to PNG keeps exactly what is there and stops any further loss, which helps if you will edit and save the image many times.
Can I do this without a website?
One file at a time, yes. On a Mac, use Preview, then File, then Export, and pick PNG. On Windows, open the photo in Paint and use Save as, then PNG. On recent iPhones, the Files app can do it: touch and hold the photo, then Quick Actions, then Convert Image.
Will the background become transparent?
No. JPGs have no transparency, so the PNG has the same solid background. Removing a background is a different job.
Why is the PNG so much bigger?
PNG stores every pixel without lossy compression. For photos that means files several times larger than the JPG. That’s expected.
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Your device does the converting, in the browser. It works in airplane mode too.
