How it works
- Pick your photos. One photo from your camera roll or computer.
- We fix them on your phone. We fix them on your tablet. We fix them on your computer.Choose the rows and columns.
- Save them back to Photos.Every piece into your camera roll or Downloads.
Equal pieces at full quality
Choose up to 10 rows and 10 columns and the photo is cut into equal pieces along the white lines. Each piece keeps the photo’s own pixels, so nothing is enlarged or blurred. The size of each piece is shown under the settings. Zoom in to cut from just part of the photo.
What people split photos for
- A poster from a home printer. Split a photo into 2 × 2 or 3 × 3 pieces, print each piece on its own sheet, and tape them together.
- Puzzles and classroom activities. Print the pieces, cut them out, and put the picture back together.
- Sharing a very big image. Some apps shrink large images. Pieces keep the detail.
- Social posts. Under the photo, switch to Profile grid or Carousel for Instagram sizes, with the posting order worked out for you.
Three tips
- Lead with your strongest piece. If the pieces will be seen one at a time, start with the best one.
- End with a payoff. Save the detail that makes the whole picture click for last.
- Put the cuts in calm areas. Zoom and drag so seams fall on plain areas. The page warns you if a cut crosses a face.
Questions
Will the pieces lose quality?
No. In this mode each piece is cut straight from your photo’s own pixels and saved as a high quality JPG.
How do I print a photo across several pages?
Split it into as many pieces as pages you want, for example 2 × 2 for four A4 or Letter sheets. Print each piece with “fit to page” turned on, then trim the margins and tape the sheets together in the numbered order.
In what order are the pieces saved?
In reading order: left to right along the top row, then the next row down. File names start with the number and say the row and column, such as 05_row2-col2.jpg.
Can I get all the pieces as one file?
On a computer, yes: choose Download .zip. On a phone the pieces go straight to your camera roll instead, since a zip is hard to open there.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. The photo is split on your phone or computer, in the browser. Try it in airplane mode.
