Quality

Best looks the same as the original. Smaller files are easier to email.

How it works

  1. Pick your photos. From your camera roll, files or computer.
  2. We fix them on your phone.Drag the box, or pick a shape. It happens on your device.
  3. Save them back to Photos.Into your camera roll, or your Downloads on a computer.

How to crop

Drag the box to move it and drag a corner to resize it. Pick a shape to lock it: Square for profile pictures, 4:5 for Instagram posts, 16:9 for YouTube and screens, 9:16 for Stories and Reels, 3:2 for prints. Or type an exact width and height in pixels.

With several photos, tap one in the list to crop it. Each photo keeps its own box, and choosing a shape sets every photo to it, centred.

Lossless, like jpegtran

A JPG stores its picture as small compressed squares. We keep the squares inside your box exactly as they are, instead of decoding and re-saving the photo, so nothing gets softer. The box’s top-left corner may shift by up to 15 pixels to line up with those squares; its size stays as you set it.

Questions

Does cropping a JPG lower its quality?

Not here. Most apps re-save the photo when they crop it. We keep the original compressed picture, so the part you keep is untouched.

Why did my crop move slightly?

To crop without re-saving, the top-left corner has to sit on the 8 or 16 pixel grid JPGs use. That can move the box by a few pixels. The size doesn’t change.

Does it keep the date the photo was taken?

Yes. Cropped photos keep their date taken, so they stay in the right place in your camera roll. Location and other details are left out.

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. Cropping happens on your phone or computer, in the browser. Load the page, turn on airplane mode and try it: it still works.
