Quality

Best looks the same as the original. Smaller files are easier to email.

How it works

  1. Pick your photos. From your camera roll, files or computer.
  2. We fix them on your phone.Drag the box, or pick a shape. It happens on your device.
  3. Save them back to Photos.Into your camera roll, or your Downloads on a computer.

How to crop

Drag the box to move it and drag a corner to resize it. Pick a shape to lock it: Square for profile pictures, 4:5 for Instagram posts, 16:9 for YouTube and screens, 9:16 for Stories and Reels, 3:2 for prints. Or type an exact width and height in pixels.

With several photos, tap one in the list to crop it. Each photo keeps its own box, and choosing a shape sets every photo to it, centred.

No quality lost on JPGs

JPGs are cropped without re-saving the picture, so what’s left is exactly as sharp as before. To make that possible the box’s top-left corner may move by up to 15 pixels, to line up with how JPGs store their picture in small squares. Its size stays exactly what you chose.

PNGs stay PNGs with their transparency, GIFs keep their animation, and iPhone HEIC photos come out as JPG.

Questions

What size is an Instagram post?

Instagram shows posts best at 4:5 (1080 by 1350 pixels) or square (1080 by 1080). Stories and Reels are 9:16 (1080 by 1920). Pick the shape, then resize with Resize image if you need exact pixels.

Can I crop many photos at once?

Yes. Pick them all, choose a shape, and every photo gets a centred box of that shape. Tap any photo to fine-tune its own box.

Can I crop to exact pixels?

Yes. Type the width and height you need under the photo. With a shape picked, the other side follows to keep the shape.

Does it keep the date the photo was taken?

Yes. Cropped photos keep their date taken, so they stay in the right place in your camera roll. Location and other details are left out.

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. Cropping happens on your phone or computer, in the browser. Load the page, turn on airplane mode and try it: it still works.
