Resize images
Change the size of photos in pixels or percent. Nothing uploaded.
How it works
- Pick your photos. From your camera roll, files or computer.
- We fix them on your phone.Resized on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
- Save them back to Photos.Into your camera roll, or your Downloads on a computer.
Two ways to resize
By size: type a width, a height, or both, in pixels. With Keep proportions on, the photo fits inside that box without being stretched. Turn it off to get exactly that width and height. By percentage: make photos 25%, 50% or 75% smaller.
Don’t make photos bigger stops small photos being blown up and turning blurry.
Common sizes
Instagram posts: 1080 wide. Full HD screens and most websites: 1920 wide. Email: about 1600 on the long side keeps photos sharp and light. Passport and ID photos have their own rules, so use Passport photo for those once it’s live.
Questions
Will resizing reduce the file size?
Yes. Halving the width and height makes a photo about a quarter of the size in pixels, and the file shrinks similarly. To hit an exact KB limit, use Reduce image size.
Can I resize many photos at once?
Yes. Pick as many as you like; each is resized with the same settings.
Does the format change?
No. JPGs stay JPGs, PNGs stay PNGs, GIFs keep their animation and SVGs stay vector. iPhone HEIC photos come out as JPG so they open everywhere.
Can I do this without a website?
On a Mac, Preview’s Tools, then Adjust Size does it. On Windows, Paint’s Resize button does one photo at a time. On iPhone there’s no built-in resize. This page does batches on any device.
Does it keep the date the photo was taken?
Yes. Photos come out the right way up, with their date taken, so they sort into the right place in your camera roll.
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Resizing happens on your phone or computer, in the browser. Load the page, turn on airplane mode and try it: it still works.
