How it works

  1. Pick your photos. From your camera roll, files or computer.
  2. We fix them on your phone.Made to fit on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
  3. Save them back to Photos.Into your camera roll, or your Downloads on a computer.

For forms with a size limit

Job applications, visa and government forms, school portals and email often say “maximum 200 KB” or “under 1 MB”. Pick the limit and each photo is saved as a JPG at the best quality that fits. If the limit is very small, the photo is also made a little smaller in pixels until it fits.

Tips

Most forms want JPG, which is what you get. If a form also gives a size in pixels (for example 600 × 600), resize first with Resize image, then reduce here.

Questions

How do I make a photo under 100 KB?

Pick your photos, tap 100 KB, then Make smaller. Each photo is saved as a JPG under 100 KB, as sharp as that allows.

What if it can’t reach my size?

For tiny limits we shrink the photo in pixels too. If it still can’t fit, you get the smallest version we could make, and the row says so.

Will the photo look worse?

The smaller the limit, the more detail goes. 500 KB and 1 MB look the same as the original on a phone screen; 100 KB is fine for ID photos and avatars.

Can I do this without a website?

On iPhone, Mail offers Small, Medium and Large when you attach a photo, but not exact sizes. On a computer, editing apps can export with a quality slider, but you have to guess. This page aims at the exact limit.

Does it keep the date the photo was taken?

Yes. Photos come out the right way up, with their date taken, so they sort into the right place in your camera roll.

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. Compressing happens on your phone or computer, in the browser. Load the page, turn on airplane mode and try it: it still works.
