Rotate images
Turn sideways photos the right way up. Nothing uploaded.
Turn all photos
Or tap a photo to turn just that one. JPGs are turned without losing any quality.
How it works
- Pick your photos. From your camera roll, files or computer.
- We fix them on your phone.Tap to turn or flip. It happens on your device.
- Save them back to Photos.Into your camera roll, or your Downloads on a computer.
Turn one, or turn them all
Tap Left or Right to turn every photo a quarter turn, Mirror to flip them left to right, or Flip to turn them upside down. To fix just one photo, tap its picture: each tap turns it a quarter turn to the right.
No quality lost on JPGs
Most tools open a JPG, turn the picture and save it again, which softens it a little every time. We turn JPGs the way the professional tool jpegtran does: the compressed picture is moved as it is, never re-saved. You can turn a photo a hundred times and it stays exactly as sharp. If a JPG’s width or height isn’t a multiple of 16, up to 15 pixels may be trimmed from one edge to make that possible.
PNGs are lossless anyway. GIFs keep their animation. iPhone HEIC photos come out as JPG so they open everywhere.
Questions
Why does my photo look sideways on my computer but not my phone?
Phones save which way up you held them as a note inside the photo, and some apps and upload forms ignore that note. Run the photo through here once and the picture itself is turned, so it shows the right way up everywhere.
Can I rotate many photos at once?
Yes. Pick as many as you like, then use Left, Right, Mirror or Flip to turn them all, or tap single photos to turn just those.
What’s the difference between mirror and flip?
Mirror swaps left and right, like looking in a mirror. It fixes selfies with backwards writing. Flip turns the picture upside down.
Does it keep the date the photo was taken?
Yes. Photos keep their date taken, so they stay in the right place in your camera roll. Location and other details are left out.
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Turning happens on your phone or computer, in the browser. Load the page, turn on airplane mode and try it: it still works.
